Muar has a rich heritage and is famed for its architecturally-significant buildings with buildings that have been around in late 1800s and early 1900s.
Post-war Muar was an intellectual node for the Chinese and Malay and a centre for culture and education. Regrettably, culture has taken a back seat to progress and development.Such important buildings embody a Royal Customs and Excise Building, Muar High School, Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim, Dutch Houses and many more.
